It actually takes a good amount of skill to play FPS (First Person Shooter) games. And the best way to get good at anything is to practice frequently. However, before you even begin to play. You need start looking into what equipment do you need to be good at FPS games.
The best place to start is on the game packaging or website itself. The developer will give you the basic system requirements in order to play their game. It may read something like this: Windows 7 or higher (64 bit versions only) Intel i5 or better / AMD FX-8320 or better. 8 GB RAM. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 / AMD Radeon HD 7870 (2GB) or better. 55GB usable hard drive space. Steam account. Broadband internet connection. So based on what we see above, we know the first piece of equipment we need is a computer system. The requirements we are looking at are for the 2016 version of the classic game Doom. We can see that beyond a very good video card, you need about a mid level computer in order to play this game. However, the better system you have, the faster the game will run. If the First Person Shooter you are playing is online then you will need a fast internet connection as well. T1's are great and if you have access to fiber optics that's a bonus. But most folks play over a cable connection. DSL is okay, but not recommended for high end gaming. As with the speed of your computer, the faster the internet connection, the better your experience will be. Other than the system and the internet connection. The next most important piece of equipment you need to be good at FPS games is a gaming mouse. There are all types of gaming mice on the market today. You can use a regular mouse, but a gaming mouse is superior because it has more buttons that you can program game actions into. You may want to consider a gaming keyboard too, but not necessary. Other than that you can look at these items as next in line for what you'd want to upgrade over time. You'll want a good set of speakers or headphones with a microphone included. You'll want a larger monitor, probably 20" at least. A comfy chair, a good desk and probably a mini-fridge are all good accessories to have around as well.

If you're looking for a new game to play, that everyone else is, this is the list for you. Here are the most popular FPS games, right now.
Valve’s Counter Strike: Global Offensive This game has a huge following in the eSports scene and is featured as backgrounds during many podcasts on YouTube. The game has been out since 2012, but is still immensely popular, and you may want to give it a try. Bungie’s Destiny One and Two Ever since Destiny’s original release in 2014, it’s been a fan favorite FPS game and with Destiny 2’s release date coming up quick, this is the perfect time to jump in and give the series a try. Activision’s Call of Duty series This is probably the first thing that comes to mind when you think of FPS games, and for good reason. The new games and even some older titles are insanely popular, for the good graphics, fun zombie mode, and that it's referenced a lot in pop culture. If for some reason you've never played Call of Duty, I'd start with the older titles and work my way up. Blizzard's Overwatch Ever since it was released on May 24th, 2016, Overwatch has become one of the best first person shooters, for the free content updates, great gameplay, and overwhelmingly positive reviews. They release new characters from time to time as part as their content updates, which is awesome. This game gets a strong recommendation. Did you find any new games you want to try out? Happy Gaming! There are many famous gaming personalities on the internet and all over the world. The most popular type of games most gaming personalities tend to go for is first person shooters. There are a variety of gamers on the vast wide web and some have gotten lucky enough to turn it into more than a hobby, becoming unexpectedly popular. It just goes to show how much of a big business video games really are. But there's no doubt about it; there's some really entertaining folks in the gaming world out there.
TotalBiscuit is a fairly well-known gamer on Youtube, who not only plays first person shooter games, but a variety of other PC games as well. He has over two million subscribers (holy cow!) and has a huge selection of videos. He talks about games, reviews them and of course, let's plays. He's British and described as cynical; frankly I can't think of a better combination. There's Robbaz, one of my personal favourites and one of the best comedians in the gaming community out there, plays a huge variety of games; mostly PC games as far as I have seen. The first person style game I remember watching him play, one of the first videos I ever watched from him, was Skyrim; and yes, it was pretty hilarious. Some of his jokes are vulgar and his channel is definitely for older teens and adults only, but most gaming personalities on the internet aren't for the younger crowd. PewDiePie is probably the most well known out of this list and one of the biggest personalities on the entire internet. Unlike the other two I listed, PewDiePie is friendly enough for a younger audience as well as an older one. In fact, the majority of PewDie's fans are young teens and adults. He plays a variety of games as well, but does play a lot of FPS. He has played Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 for example. He's one of the comedic ones and I've heard he's quite good with his humor, but I've also heard from others his humor is an acquired taste. From the few videos I've watched from him a few years ago, he probably isn't my cup of tea. But if you're looking for a popular gaming personality, PewDiePie is as popular as they come. This is in stark contrast to softball personality Jennie Finch, who is much more professional and a bit less of a comedian. There is so many more gaming personalities I could list; but these are the ones that I know play FPS and are popular. They're worth checking out though, if you're looking for something entertaining, and perhaps also insightful on games new and old, these are a few great personalities to look out for. FPS games have proven to be popular among many game players. The history of FPS games is diverse and worth a look too. PC game players likely remember their heyday in the 1990's. Great games like Doom and Quake were unveiled to large audiences. That kept players actively seeking a popular new format. In fact, the history of FPS games was followed up with sequels. These games were redesigned and introduced to a new generation of PC game players. Half-Life was the crowning achievement in the eyes of many players.
The console market saw its fair share of games get released during that decade. The 1990's saw the unveiling of Goldeneye for the N64 console. Fans immediately purchased the game and voiced their opinion too. That made the game one of the best selling during the year. The gaming industry took notice and lent their support for other popular games too. Medal of Honor made its debut in 1999, starting a successful franchise. The roots of the popular genre certainly got their start during that decade. Game players would look back and enjoy the experience themselves. History of FPS games were changed forever because of these influential titles. In the 2000s, players looked forward to the release of Call of Duty games. For instance, in 2005 the development team unveiled Call of Duty 2: the Big Red One. That was just the start for the best selling franchise too. They were able to release Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in 2007. By that point, online contests had become the standard among players. There was still a single player campaign to be found. But the emphasis was certainly placed on online play. That showcased an important change in the history of FPS games. Now players were invited to join large scale games online as well. |
